8 thoughts on “Podcast: Why is gold at a lifetime high? Should you buy now?”
Just heard this podcast and as an investor with no gold exposure so far, found it be of super value for spending just 20 mins. You folks super rock! Taking cue from Aarti’s point on not making an entry at high prices while wanting to get into this as an asset class, will a 15% drop of the current levels be a good point to enter?
What is taxation on gold ETF/ mutual funds ? No more capital gains ?
For investments in gold ETFs/funds from April 1, 2023, there in no LTCG. All gain will be taxed at your slab. Investments before April 1,2023 will continue to get LTC benefit.
Good insights on a hot theme going on right now Aarati Mam! The allocation should be from Equity and not debt is new insight to me. Thanks!!
So, if I am sure to hold till maturity, there’s no issues in buying SGB from the secondary markets?
When you say no issue – if you mean gauranteed growth – that is a market risk – based on gold price movement for the residual period of your holding. There will be no risk of liquidity and no risk of govt. repaying the then price, if you mean those.
Very well explained!
Very nice and insightful views on Gold. Esp comparision with debt
Would have liked if you would have covered the taxation on gold funds.
