  1. Great article. Thanks a lot for that. Is this stock worth for SIP (not necessarily monthly) and current valuations are ok to start with?
Also for risk profiling for long term where it stands with HDFC Bank?
I mean for small investor who wants to make new portfolio for long term and can not do lumpsum, hdfc bank or hdfc which will be less risky?

    1. Hello Prakash:
Glad that you found the article interesting. The log-scale or percentage based brick size option is available in the TradePoint software developed by Definedge Solutions. Madam
Wonderful presentation . I am sure that our investments in MFs/Stocks recommended by PrimeInvestor Team will have a solid back up of analysis and will give comfort to the investors. Only the best comes from the team. Great going.
    Thanks

  3. Great Step. Can see a lot of value coming from my PrimeInvestor Subscription through the various articles posted regularly. Coming to this article, i would like if the stock code is added against the stock name at some place in the article start. Lastly, for Stock Recommendations, it would be prudent to also advise the category of the recommendation. For e.g. Instead of Long Term you may want to say Value Investing, Growth Stock, Trading etc. This will align between what people read (in books/financial blogs etc) and what they see in your recommendations. Then they would be able to take their personal call on their own effectively! Hope this helps! Thanks and Cheers!

    1. HEllo Sir, thanks. We are not yet live. You will have a stock page which will have the ‘risk’ level for the stock. thanks, Vidya

  4. Great step, congratulations. Would suggest to add expected holding period, what CAGR % one can expect in next three years or five years, what is the margin of safety at current price.
Historical financial performance and more information on competition also can add value.

    1. Hello Sir, Thanks!
Once we go live (our stock list page is not live as yet), we will set your expectations clear on our questions. but for now –
      1. no, there is no epected holding period. They are meant for long term…we will give hold or sell calls if our investment thesis or valuations turn worse. We will keep you alerted on them. You need to stay updated though.
      2. We will not give target price. Brokerages do it to churn your portfolio and make commission. We don’t need to 🙂 We will issue sell calls when warranted. Ohterwise, you sell when you need the money 🙂
      3. Historical financials will be available in our stock details page once it goes live. Detailed research reports will have competition where it is warranted. You can aso check our screener page https://staging.primeinvestor.in/prime-screener/ thanks, Vidya

      1. Sorry i am not talking about target price at all rather what kinda annual return one should expect over a period of time (after going through all market volatility) if one buys (full allocation ~5%) the stock at current price.

    Very Good analysis.
But if one has allocation to few mutual funds, it is highly likely that there will be good amount of allocation to this stock already. Is there a need to have separate allocation?

    1. Entirely your call. Many investors go for stocks inspite of having MFs where they think they want focused exposures. thanks Vidya

  6. This is great. I was waiting for the stock recommendations since the day you guys have written about this upcoming service. Thanks.

HDFC is a gem and I am invested since few years :). Your article gives me courage to add more in future.

A question, would you guys will keep us updated in case fundamentals deteriorate? Also should we expect a note on company results?

    1. Yes, we will have stocks page separately where you will see if a stock recommended by us moves to a hold or sell (only for recommended stocks). You will receive mail alerts on the same. No, kindly don’t expect any results update (more done by brokerages :-)) . Unless there is any material change to our call, we will not cover it. thanks, Vidya

  7. Thanks a ton for sharing such a good analysis. Great stuff from the team to start sharing long term stock recommendations as well!

  8. I have been invested in HDFC for few months now and have seen outstanding performance of the share. While my understanding behind the recent stellar performance was limited, reading the article really explains the same in more depth. One follow up question i have about finding the right buying level for the stock if one wants to do SIP every month much like a mutual fund SIP.

  9. Wow…..did not expect this in primeinvestor, where I was thinking that it will be all about MFs only. Way 2go Aarti. Coming to the stock itself, I was one of those scare crows, who moved out of this gem, in March panic. Never got a chance to get back but this will provide an opportunity to relook.
    Thanks
    Kalyan
