  1. Hello Aarati,
It is a wonderful article at the time where the fixed income returns are getting lower by the day. I have invested in the Powergrid InvITs during the IPO and added a bit later. What is the difference beyween Powergrid and IndiGrid InvITs in terms of return profile? For further investments which among the two you would advise. What is the current status of REITS for investment due to this prolonged WFH culture?

  2. Hi Aarati, INDIGRID is listed on BSE as INDIGRID (BOM: 540565) and on NSE as INDIGRID Series IV. Can you please calrify which one is it you’re referring to? You have this as today’s stock recommendation but you also say this is not a share. I appreciate your analysis but please clarify how and where to invest.

    1. The ticker you are referring to is the Indigrid NCD NOT Invit. Kindly look for ticker INDIGRID on BSE with security code 540565. The market price is about Rs 134..

  3. Thank you for a such a nice article to discover not well known investment avenues. I found that there are IndiGrid scrip listed up as IndiGrid-NA, IndiGrid-NB. IndiGrid-NC all the way upto IndiGrid-NL and IndiGrid-IV. Which ones do I choose to buy and why are there so many varied scrips? How do we know their maturiy dates? This information also would be useful. Thank you.

    1. Money control shows as IndiGrid InvIT fund ltd, and on NSE you have lots of IndiGrid but the match is with IndiGrid-IV as the price matches

  4. Is this a MF or a stock or something else? There is also a stock recommendation today by same name. Sorry, it’s confusing.

  5. Hi Aarati. Thanks…yet again, for an informative write up. In these times of scarce investment options (reasonably safe ones), this offers an alternative worth exploring. Request some clarifications though, why is the ‘Reserves & Surplus’ of Indigrid negative? And increased since last year? Should we be worried about this?

    Thanks & Good day..

    1. Not a concern. This is because Invits distribute almost all of their net earnings to unitholders and aren’t permitted to retain over 10%. However total shareholders equity is positive for the consolidated entity stands at Rs 4850 cr by Mar 2021.

  6. Thanks for the superb article. Keen reader iof your all articles. Thanks to advise why powegrid invit is not a good investment option,

    1. While investing in Invits it’s useful to have a track record of asset expansion and income distribution. Indigrid has a 4 year record but Powergrid listed only this year.

Can you pls let us know how to invest in this? I dont see this fund both in ICICIdirect / HSBC MF

  8. Interesting pick. One question that comes to mind: Just as stocks correct when a big dividend is announced and on ex date it generally falls by that much(Dividend announced), will the Invit also react the same way i.e. fall by the amount of dividend/income announced on ex day. Thanks for wonderful analysis.

  9. Thanks for comprehensive guidance. May be a basic question – we have to buy this unit from stock exchange right ?
    Please do guide
